After getting settled in, we went out for a short walk on the very edge of the arboretum. We ran across this gem in a front yard, showing the first of many examples of why this is an awesome city.
where we both managed to order the exact same things we had last time:
BBQ-Jackfruit
Izzy's Salad (Tabuleh on a Greek Salad)
For dessert, we branched out a bit (well branching for me at least) and had the vegan cheesecake.
The cheesecake was to die for; I think I liked it better than regular cheesecake! The N-boy seemed to enjoy it too.
Our next big stop for the night was for the Rythms and Booms (clever, no?) fireworks display. On the way there we made a new friend
T-Bone the Hedgehog.
T-bone enjoys walked in the park and smelling the flowers. Of course he does; what hedgehog doesn't?
We arrived in the park a little early, but it was a beautiful (if a bit warm) evening so it was nice to just relax and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
We also learned that our new phones have flashes. Oops.
We were across the lake from the firework launch siade, which was weird since the percussion noises were very muted and came well after we were able to see each explosion. It was also fun to see the display reflected in the lake and was a great end to the day.
The salad looks delicious, but I think I will pass on the BBQ jackfruit.
ReplyDeleteVegan Cheesecake?
Have a good trip.
